SftyFrst works with any OBD2 Bluetooth adapter that supports standard SAE J1979 PIDs, including ELM327-compatible Bluetooth adapters. You can purchase one from most electronics retailers or online marketplaces. Note that compatibility varies by vehicle year and adapter model — verify manufacturer specifications before purchasing.

No — SftyFrst does not manufacture or sell hardware. Any OBD2 adapter you use is a third-party product. We do not warranty or support third-party hardware. If you experience issues with your adapter, contact the adapter manufacturer directly.

SftyFrst works with most vehicles manufactured after 1996 in the US, when OBD2 became mandatory. However, specific data availability depends on your vehicle's make, model, and year. Some older or non-standard vehicles may have limited OBD2 support.

SftyFrst can read standard OBD2 parameters including RPM, vehicle speed, engine coolant temperature, fuel system status, calculated load value, and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Advanced parameters may vary by vehicle.

The OBD2 adapter provides vehicle diagnostic data. Family member monitoring (location tracking, speed monitoring, trip history) works through the member's phone GPS and does not require an OBD2 adapter. However, the full experience — combining vehicle health with driving behavior — requires both.

The account holder creates an invitation for each family member. Members accept the invitation and create their own account. Guardian consent is required before monitoring begins for users under 18. No member can be monitored without explicit setup by the account holder.

Advanced is a single-user plan — one account, one vehicle. To monitor multiple family members and vehicles, you need a Family plan, which lets you invite household members, monitor their trips, and manage multiple vehicles. Family plans are priced by vehicle count: Family (4), Family Plus (8), Family Elite (12).

Transparency is important to us. Members can see their own driving scores, trip history, and any alerts generated by the app. Monitoring should be an open conversation, not a secret.

If a member uninstalls the app or disables location services, monitoring will stop and you'll receive a notification. Historical data remains accessible in your dashboard. We recommend discussing app usage as part of your household's driving agreement.

Advanced is $59.99 per year (approximately $5.00/month when billed annually). We also offer a monthly billing option at $7.99/month. Prices are in USD and may vary by region.

Yes — you can cancel your Advanced subscription at any time. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees apply. You can manage your subscription — including upgrading, downgrading, or cancelling — by visiting sftyfrst.app and signing in to your account dashboard.

The Free tier includes: OBD2 vehicle diagnostics (RPM, speed, temperature, trouble codes), basic trip tracking (last 15 trips), and safety alerts. Family monitoring and full trip history (last 25 trips in-app; 24 months on web dashboard for Advanced/Family/Family Plus; unlimited for Family Elite) require a paid plan.

The Family plan (pricing coming soon) covers up to 4 vehicles and is designed for households who want to monitor multiple drivers — spouse, elderly parent, new driver, or teenager. All family members get full access to OBD2 diagnostics, trip history, and safety scores.

Family Plus (pricing coming soon) covers 5–8 vehicles — ideal for larger households with multiple drivers and vehicles.

Family Elite (pricing coming soon) covers 9–12 vehicles — the maximum for a single household. Family Elite is for personal household use only. Commercial vehicle operations are prohibited and may result in account termination. SftyFrst enforces a hard cap of 12 vehicles per account.

All trip data is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. Communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS. We store only the data necessary for the app's functionality and do not sell user data to third parties.
